PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all access to and use of the PeaceMappers platform (“PeaceMappers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), developed by Veridian Urban Systems. By accessing the website, registering an account, enrolling in assessments or certificates, or using any PeaceMappers services (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.
1. Definitions
For purposes of this Agreement:
- “Platform” refers to the PeaceMappers website, analytical dashboards, peace indices, mapping tools, diagnostic frameworks, datasets, indicators, methodologies, training modules, reports, and associated services.
- “User” means any individual, institution, government entity, organization, or authorized representative accessing the Platform.
- “Content” means all proprietary materials provided through the Platform, including methodologies, indicators, question banks, models, frameworks, visualizations, text, graphics, and instructional materials.
- “Outputs” means analytical results, scores, mappings, interpretations, reports, or insights generated by the Platform.
- “Uploaded Data” means any information or data submitted by a User for analysis, assessment, or participation.
2. Scope of Application
These Terms apply to all PeaceMappers services, including but not limited to:
- Peace Enablers Matrix (PEM) assessments
- Country, regional, and thematic peace diagnostics
- Mapping and visualization tools
- Research and analytical outputs
- Certificate and training programs
- Pilot tools, experimental features, and future platform expansions
Separate written agreements may govern institutional or enterprise engagements and will prevail where applicable.
3. Eligibility & Authority
By using the Platform, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years of age;
- You have legal authority to bind yourself or the entity you represent;
- Your access and use comply with all applicable laws and regulations;
- You acknowledge that platform usage may be monitored for security, integrity, and compliance purposes.
Unauthorized or improper use is prohibited.
4. License and Permitted Use
PeaceMappers grants Users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Platform solely for internal analytical, educational, research, or policy-support purposes.
This license does not permit:
- Reproduction, redistribution, or public republication of Content or Outputs;
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or bulk extraction of Platform materials;
- Use of Content or Outputs to develop competing indices, tools, or services;
- Sharing access credentials outside the authorized User scope;
- Commercial exploitation without express written authorization.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
5. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Platform remain the exclusive property of PeaceMappers and/or Veridian Urban Systems, including:
- Peace Enablers Matrix design and structure
- Indicators, scoring logic, and methodologies
- Analytical models, algorithms, and interpretive frameworks
- Training materials and certification content
- Brand names, logos, and visual identity
Users may not use Platform materials to train AI systems, develop derivative products, or support independent consulting without prior written consent.
6. Account, Access and Fees
Certain services may require registration, enrollment, or payment.
- Fees are charged in advance where applicable.
- Subscriptions or program enrollments may renew automatically unless cancelled.
- Refunds are not provided except where required by law.
- Access may be suspended for non-payment or breach of these Terms.
- Pricing and access structures may change with reasonable notice.
Users are responsible for maintaining accurate payment information.
7. User Responsibilities
Users agree to:
- Maintain the confidentiality of access credentials;
- Provide accurate and lawful data;
- Use Outputs responsibly and in context;
- Avoid misrepresentation of PeaceMappers analyses;
- Refrain from unlawful, unethical, or harmful conduct.
Violation may result in suspension or termination without notice.
8. Data Rights and Processing
Uploaded Data remains the property of the User.
By submitting data, Users grant PeaceMappers a limited license to:
- Process data for Platform functionality;
- Improve analytical systems and performance;
- Generate anonymized, aggregated insights;
- Maintain platform security and integrity.
No personal data is sold. Data handling is governed by the PeaceMappers Privacy Policy.
9. No Professional or Governmental Advice
All Content and Outputs are informational and analytical only.
PeaceMappers does not provide:
- Legal, financial, or investment advice;
- Engineering or planning certification;
- Governmental approvals or compliance determinations;
- Policy guarantees or risk assurances.
Users bear sole responsibility for decisions informed by Platform Outputs.
10. Accuracy and Limitations
Users acknowledge that:
- Outputs depend on available data and interpretive models;
- Analytical results may contain errors or uncertainties;
- Peace conditions are dynamic and cannot be fully predicted;
- AI-assisted interpretations may misread inputs or context.

11. Platform Availability
PeaceMappers may modify, suspend, or discontinue features due to:
- Maintenance or upgrades;
- Security concerns;
- Data source changes;
- Force majeure events.
Uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
12. Third-Party Integrations
The Platform may rely on external data sources or services.
PeaceMappers is not responsible for:
- Accuracy or reliability of third-party data;
- Service disruptions beyond its control;
- Breaches originating outside PeaceMappers systems.
13. Experimental Features
Beta or pilot tools are provided “as is” and may be unstable, incomplete, or withdrawn without notice. Use is at the User’s sole risk.
14. Warranty Disclaimer
The Platform is provided “AS IS,” “AS AVAILABLE.”
All warranties, express or implied, are disclaimed, including merchantability, fitness for purpose, and accuracy.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- PeaceMappers is not liable for indirect or consequential damages;
- Liability for any claim shall not exceed fees paid in the prior 12 months;
- PeaceMappers is not responsible for institutional, governmental, or policy outcomes based on Outputs.
16. Indemnification
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless PeaceMappers and Veridian Urban Systems from claims arising from misuse, violations of these Terms, unlawful data submission, or reliance on Outputs.
17. Force Majeure
No liability shall arise from events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, cyber incidents, political instability, or regulatory actions.
18. Government and Institutional Use
Government Users receive access under a commercial license.
Sovereign immunity does not override intellectual property protections.
19. Assignment
Users may not assign rights without consent.
PeaceMappers may assign these Terms in connection with restructuring or acquisition.
20. Severability
If any provision is unenforceable, remaining provisions remain in force.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, constitute the entire agreement governing Platform use.
22. Amendments
PeaceMappers may revise these Terms. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
